Why is Bethel Woods a special place to see Ringo?
Bethel Woods was built on the farmland where the Woodstock festival took place in August 1969. To be clear, Ringo did not play Woodstock. But there is something fitting about a man who has spent years asking the world to say “Peace & Love” on his birthday bringing that message to the field most people associate with it. Expect the “Give Peace a Chance” outro at the end of the night to land a little differently here.
It is also the second night of the fall run and the only Friday show, which makes it an easy weekend trip from New York City, northern New Jersey or the Hudson Valley.

Where should I sit at an amphitheater with a lawn?
Amphitheaters split into a covered pavilion with fixed seats and an open lawn behind it. Pavilion seats give you a proper view of the stage and shelter if it rains. The lawn is cheaper and more relaxed, with a picnic feel, but the stage is far away and you will lean on the video screens. Bethel Woods is in rural Sullivan County, New York, roughly a two-hour drive from New York City depending on traffic. Public transport options are very limited, so almost everyone drives. The venue has on-site parking and sells premium parking as an add-on. Country roads can slow down around show time, so leave early and check the venue’s directions page before you go.
